1. Our Community Standards
WNDR is a global travel community built around a shared passion for exploration, discovery, and connection. We want WNDR to be a safe, authentic, respectful, and inspiring space for every traveller — regardless of nationality, background, culture, language, or travel style.
This Content Policy reflects our commitment to maintaining a community where people can share their travel experiences freely, within boundaries that protect the safety and dignity of all members. These standards apply to every piece of content created, shared, or transmitted on WNDR, and to every user, everywhere.
2. Scope: What This Policy Covers
This Content Policy applies to all content posted, shared, transmitted, or made available through WNDR, including:
- Posts, photos, and videos in the social feed
- Comments, replies, and reactions
- Usernames, profile pictures, bios, and other profile information
- Private messages and group chat messages
- Travel plans and trip planning submissions
- Blog entries and travel articles
- Country and city page contributions, including Q&A content
- Content shared in or related to group chats and travel buddy connections
- Any other user-generated content on the platform
This Policy must be read alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, all of which form part of your agreement with WNDR.
3. Acceptable Content
Content is welcome on WNDR when it meets all of the following criteria:
- Is related to travel, destinations, cultures, experiences, tips, plans, or community connection
- Is your original creation, or content for which you hold all necessary rights and permissions
- Is authentic and does not intentionally mislead or deceive other users
- Respects the dignity, privacy, and rights of other people, cultures, and communities
- Complies with all applicable laws and regulations
- Complies with all sections of this Content Policy and our Terms of Service
WNDR is a travel community. While we welcome diverse content styles, content should have a meaningful connection to travel, exploration, or community.
4. Prohibited Content — Absolute Prohibitions
The following categories of content are strictly prohibited under all circumstances and will result in immediate content removal, and in most cases, immediate permanent account termination and mandatory reporting to law enforcement:
4.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and Child Exploitation
Any content that sexually exploits, depicts, or facilitates abuse of minors — including written content, illustrations, and digitally generated material — is absolutely prohibited. This results in immediate permanent account ban and mandatory reporting to the relevant national authorities and NCMEC (National Center for Missing & Exploited Children), without exception and regardless of any other consideration. WNDR operates a zero-tolerance policy in this area with no appeals process.
4.2 Terrorism and Violent Extremism
Content that promotes, glorifies, celebrates, facilitates, recruits for, or provides material support to terrorist organisations, violent extremist groups, or mass violence of any kind. This includes propaganda materials from designated terrorist organisations.
4.3 Credible and Specific Threats of Violence
Credible threats of imminent violence against specific identified individuals, groups, or locations. This includes content that provides specific means, opportunity, and intent to commit violence.
4.4 Content Facilitating Human Trafficking
Any content that facilitates, promotes, recruits for, or provides operational assistance for human trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation, or any form of modern slavery.
5. Prohibited Content — Context-Dependent
The following content is prohibited on WNDR. The severity of our response depends on context, intent, frequency, and impact:
5.1 Hate Speech and Discrimination
- Content that dehumanises, degrades, or attacks individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, immigration status, or any other protected characteristic
- Content that promotes ideologies founded on the inferiority or superiority of any group based on protected characteristics
- Use of slurs or hateful language targeting protected groups
Discussing discrimination, historical injustice, or social inequality in an educational, journalistic, or good-faith analytical context is not prohibited.
5.2 Harassment, Bullying, and Stalking
- Targeted harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any individual or group
- Coordinated campaigns designed to harass or drive out specific users
- Sharing or threatening to share intimate or private images of any person without their consent (non-consensual intimate image sharing / "revenge porn")
- Doxxing — revealing private personal information (home address, phone number, workplace, etc.) about another person without their consent
- Stalking behaviour, including obsessive repeated contact after a user has indicated they do not wish to be contacted
- Content designed to shame, humiliate, or degrade a specific individual
5.3 Graphic Violence
- Gratuitous or glorifying depictions of graphic violence, gore, or severe physical injury
- Content depicting real-world violence for shock value rather than documentary, journalistic, or educational purposes
- Content that celebrates or rewards acts of violence
5.4 Self-Harm and Suicide
- Content that encourages, glorifies, provides instructions for, or facilitates self-harm or suicide
- Content that targets vulnerable individuals with self-harm or suicide-related material
Content discussing mental health, seeking support, or raising awareness of these issues in a responsible and supportive manner is permitted and welcomed.
5.5 Sexual Content
- Sexually explicit or pornographic content of any kind
- Nudity that is not incidental and contextually appropriate (e.g. certain travel or cultural photography contexts may be acceptable; contact us if uncertain)
- Sexual content involving minors in any form whatsoever — see Section 4.1
- Non-consensual intimate images or material produced without consent of those depicted
5.6 Misinformation and Deception
- Deliberately false travel information that could cause direct physical harm to users (e.g. false safety information about a destination, false information about entry requirements that could strand users)
- Impersonation of any real person, public figure, brand, organisation, or WNDR itself
- Fake reviews, ratings, or testimonials designed to mislead other users
- Coordinated inauthentic behaviour — using multiple accounts or coordinated means to artificially influence platform metrics
5.7 Spam and Commercial Abuse
- Unsolicited commercial messages, bulk messaging, or spam
- Pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, scams, phishing, or fraudulent solicitations
- Unauthorised commercial advertising or promotion
- Artificially inflating followers, likes, or engagement metrics
- Repetitive, low-quality, or meaningless content posted at scale
5.8 Malicious and Illegal Content
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, spyware, or any code designed to damage systems or gain unauthorised access
- Content that promotes, facilitates, or glorifies illegal activity under applicable law
- Instructions or guides for carrying out illegal acts
- Content that facilitates unauthorised access to computer systems, personal data, or private accounts
5.9 Privacy Violations
- Sharing another person's private information (personal data, contact details, financial information, medical information) without their explicit consent
- Photos or videos of identifiable individuals taken in private contexts without consent
- Recording and sharing private conversations without consent of participants
6. Profile Standards
Your WNDR profile — including your username, profile picture, bio, and all profile fields — must comply with this Content Policy. Specifically:
- Your username and display name must not impersonate any real person, brand, or organisation
- Your profile picture must not contain prohibited content, including sexually explicit material, hate symbols, or graphic violence
- Your bio must not contain content prohibited by this Policy
- Your profile may not be used primarily for commercial advertising or spam
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or ban is prohibited
WNDR reserves the right to require a username change if it infringes third-party rights or violates this Policy.
7. Messaging and Group Chat Standards
All private messages and group chat messages are subject to this Content Policy. Additionally:
- Unsolicited commercial messages to users who have not expressed interest constitute spam and are prohibited
- Repeated unwanted contact after a user has asked you to stop constitutes harassment
- Sending prohibited content (as described in Sections 4 and 5) through private messages is subject to the same consequences as public posting
- Using direct messages to coordinate or facilitate any activity prohibited by this Policy or our Terms of Service is prohibited
WNDR does not routinely monitor private messages. However, we will investigate credible reports of violations in private messages in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Country and City Page Content
Content contributed to country and city pages — including posts, Q&A responses, tips, and blog entries — must:
- Be factually accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Be genuinely useful and relevant to travellers interested in that destination
- Not constitute advertising or promotion of specific commercial services without transparency
- Respect the culture, customs, and dignity of the people of that country or city
WNDR may edit or remove country and city page contributions that are inaccurate, misleading, or not in keeping with community standards, without prior notice.
9. Photos and Videos
When uploading photos and videos to WNDR:
- You must own the rights to all content you upload or have appropriate permissions to share it
- Photos and videos depicting identifiable people should only be posted with the knowledge and reasonable consent of those depicted, particularly for photos taken in private or semi-private settings
- Content that captures or focuses on individuals in an intrusive or voyeuristic manner is prohibited
- Photos and videos must comply with all other provisions of this Policy
- WNDR may strip metadata from uploaded images for privacy protection
- Videos will be subject to the same standards as photos when the feature is activated
10. Intellectual Property
- Do not upload or share content that infringes third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Only share photos, videos, and text that you created or that you have explicit permission to share
- Do not reproduce substantial portions of copyrighted works (articles, books, lyrics, scripts, etc.) without authorisation
- Using copyrighted material in a way that constitutes fair use, fair dealing, or commentary/criticism may be acceptable — if in doubt, contact us at [email protected]
Rights holders may submit a notice of infringement under our Notice and Takedown procedure (see our Legal Notice). We will respond within 10 business days.
11. Moderation System
11.1 User Reporting
Any user may report a post, comment, profile, or other content using the in-app "Report" button. Reports are reviewed by WNDR within the timescales set out in Section 12.
11.2 Community-Assisted Moderation
Where a post receives a significant number of reports from independent users, it is automatically hidden from public view pending review by WNDR moderation staff. This mechanism is designed to limit potential harm while human review takes place. It does not constitute a finding that the content violates this Policy.
11.3 WNDR Moderation
WNDR reserves the right — but not the obligation — to review, remove, or disable access to any content at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any reason including violation of this Policy. We may use automated tools to assist with detecting certain categories of prohibited content; all automated moderation decisions may be reviewed through the appeals process (Section 14).
11.4 Moderation Limitations
Moderation does not guarantee that all violating content will be detected before it causes harm. WNDR is not liable for harm caused by content that was not detected or removed before you encountered it, provided we act promptly upon notice.
12. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content that may violate this Policy, please:
- Use the "Report" button on any post, comment, profile, or message within the app
- Email [email protected] for complex, urgent, or sensitive cases
Response timescales:
- Reports involving child safety, credible threats of violence, or terrorism: reviewed within 4 hours
- Reports involving harassment, hate speech, or self-harm: reviewed within 24 hours
- All other reports: reviewed within 48 hours
We will acknowledge receipt of reports where contact details are provided. We may not be able to share the outcome of all moderation decisions for privacy reasons.
False or malicious reports: deliberately submitting false reports to target or harass other users is itself a violation of this Policy and may result in action against the reporting account.
13. Consequences of Violations
Violations of this Policy may result in one or more of the following actions, at WNDR's discretion, depending on the severity, nature, and frequency of the violation:
- Content removal — without prior notice
- Content editing or suppression — limiting visibility of content
- Formal warning — documented and held on record
- Feature restriction — limiting your ability to post, comment, message, or use specific features
- Temporary account suspension — ranging from 24 hours to 30 days, depending on severity
- Permanent account ban — for severe, repeated, or irredeemable violations
- Reporting to law enforcement or child safety authorities — mandatory for CSAM, terrorism-related content, credible threats of violence, and other illegal content, and discretionary for other serious illegal activity
Zero-tolerance offences that result in immediate permanent ban and mandatory law enforcement reporting, without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content sexually exploiting minors
- Content facilitating or promoting terrorism or mass violence
- Credible, specific, and imminent threats of violence against identified individuals
- Human trafficking facilitation
14. Appeals Process
If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe the decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal as follows:
- Deadline: appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the moderation action
- How to appeal: email [email protected] with the subject line "Content Moderation Appeal" and include: (a) your WNDR username; (b) a description of the content removed or action taken; (c) the date of the action; and (d) a clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect
- Response: we will respond within 10 business days of receiving a complete appeal
- Outcome: our appeal decision is final and constitutes WNDR's last internal recourse
Appeals are not available for zero-tolerance offences (see Section 13).
If you are in the EU/EEA and believe your rights have been violated, you may also have recourse through your national consumer protection authority or data protection supervisory authority (see our Privacy Policy, Section 17).
15. Your Responsibility
You are solely and fully responsible for all content you post, upload, share, or transmit on WNDR. By posting content, you represent that it complies with this Policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WNDR, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your conduct, or your use of the platform in violation of this Policy or our Terms of Service.
WNDR is not responsible for content posted by users and does not endorse any user-generated content. The presence of content on WNDR does not imply WNDR's endorsement, verification, or approval of it.
